An Important Nutrient to Support a Healthy Body
There are a lot of mineral nutrients that we need regularly to keep our bodies strong and healthy. One of the most important nutrients required is iodine. It helps support a healthy immune system, controls metabolism, and gives you a boost of energy.
Unfortunately, about 2.2 billion people are deficient in iodine (38% of the world’s population, across 47 countries). But for those with an iodine deficiency, iodine supplements, such as nascent iodine, can help. So let’s take a look at what nascent iodine is and what it does for the human body.
Using Nascent Iodine as a Dietary Supplement
Nascent iodine is a consumable iodine when it’s in an atomic form. This means that as a nutritional supplement, nascent iodine provides the ideal amount of iodine to the body that can be absorbed rapidly.
There are several effective uses for nascent iodine, and because not everyone has access to iodine-rich foods, this supplement can significantly help people who may be deficient in iodine. Overall, nascent iodine provides a sufficient amount of iodine for proper body function.
Nascent Iodine Benefits for Health
and Well-Being
When used as a supplement, nascent iodine can provide the body with optimal levels of iodine that are needed to perform several important body functions. Iodine is crucial in assisting the thyroid in hormone production to regulate metabolism and heart rate. The benefits of consuming iodine include:
A regulated metabolism
Your metabolism is responsible for absorbing food and turning it into usable energy, or calories. If your metabolism is unregulated, this can result in you feeling sluggish and potentially gaining weight. Consuming the mineral nutrients in iodine can help to regulate the production of hormones, which directly affects a person’s metabolic rate.
Increased hair growth
If you are experiencing high rates of hair loss, this could be a sign you have an iodine deficiency. But the good news — once you add iodine back into your diet, it can speed up your hair growth by stimulating your hair follicles. Not only that, but it will make your hair stronger and shiny!
Improved energy levels
Not only does iodine help to convert what you eat into usable energy, but it also ensures your calories are going to the right place. In other words, this means that it will help deposit what you eat into an energy source rather than create pockets of fat. And when this energy is happening, you’ll feel a jolt of energy.
Are You Getting Enough Iodine?
Iodine is lacking in many food sources around the world. Nascent iodine can help provide the right amount of iodine intake whether a person lives in an area without sufficient iodine-rich foods or a person simply needs more iodine.
According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health, certain groups of people are more likely than others to have trouble getting enough iodine:
- People who do not use iodized salt. Not all salt is iodized and those on low salt diets are at risk.
- Pregnant women or vegans. Women who are pregnant need about 50% more iodine than other women to provide enough iodine for their baby. People who don’t eat or eat very little dairy products, seafood, and eggs might not get enough iodine.
People who eat foods containing goitrogens. Goitrogens are substances that interfere with the way the body uses iodine. They are present in some plant foods including soy and cruciferous vegetables, such as cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and brussels sprouts.
The Nascent Iodine Energy Boost
Does nascent iodine give you energy? The short answer to this question is “Yes.” In fact, the word “nascent” means newborn.
In small doses, the body can easily absorb nascent iodine through the gastrointestinal tract into the thyroid gland and other areas such as in the skin and salivary glands. Nascent iodine does not cause congestion in the thyroid gland like other forms of iodine, and because it is very bioavailable, you will only need to take it in small amounts. The body can easily eliminate this form of iodine through the kidneys if you take more than your body needs, and it is not toxic.
It takes about 4-6 months for your body to be fully nourished with this iodine, and the iodine should be continued after this at the same dose. In turn, you should experience the nascent iodine energy boost associated with taking your daily dose.
Another reason to take it in small doses is that iodine helps kill pathogenic (“bad”) bacteria and yeasts in your system. Because of this, it is advisable to start with a small dose of the iodine and to gradually increase in order to avoid a “detox” reaction.
Detox reactions occur when these bad germs die suddenly and are released into the bloodstream causing such symptoms as headache, fatigue and nausea. If you get a detox reaction, it is harmless and all you need to do is to stop the iodine for one day and to increase your water intake for a day or two, then resume the iodine at a smaller dose for a few days before increasing it again.

Iodine Explained
Iodine is a trace element that is naturally present in some foods, added to others, and available as a dietary supplement.
Iodine is an essential component of the thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). Thyroid hormones regulate many important biochemical reactions, including protein synthesis and enzymatic activity, are critical determinants of metabolic activity, and play a pivotal role in brain development. They are also required for proper skeletal and central nervous system development in fetuses and infants.
Because the body does not make this essential mineral, it can benefit from the iodine effects on the body that comes with taking an iodine supplement, such as MAGNASCENT nascent iodine.
Iodine deficiency prevention begins with ensuring you take the proper amount of iodine daily. The thyroid gland needs iodine to make hormones. If the thyroid doesn’t have enough iodine to do its job, feedback systems in the body cause the thyroid to work harder. This can cause an enlarged thyroid gland (goiter), which becomes evident as a swollen neck.
Other consequences of not having enough iodine (iodine deficiency) are also serious. Iodine deficiency and the resulting low levels of thyroid hormone can cause women to stop ovulating, leading to infertility.
Getting a Consumable Form of Iodine
Normally, iodine is found as two molecules of iodine paired (stuck) together and this is called “I2”. This form of iodine is difficult for the body to process and use correctly.
In the past, doctors have used potassium iodide in combination with I2 to supplement a lack of iodine in the body with some success. In fact, iodized salt is table salt in which potassium iodide is added in small amounts. The problem with potassium iodide is that it can cause inflammation in the thyroid known as thyroiditis. Additionally, some diets require one to avoid salt or to use natural salts that do not contain extra iodine.
Nascent iodine, also known as atomic iodine, is a special form of iodine that is made by taking molecular iodine I2 and exposing it to a strong magnetic field. This separates the iodine into individual atoms that enter the body and are used very easily. The discovery of a nascent iodine dietary supplement is a recent development. If your healthcare provider has never heard of consumable nascent iodine, that is not unexpected.
At MAGNASCENT, our patent is the first and only patent for consumable iodine. Other non-consumable forms of nascent iodine have very short lifespans and have limited uses.
There are at least three patents on the market that reference using nascent iodine in various ways, but not as a consumable product. One process produces nascent iodine in an electrolytic bath for coating pacemakers, catheters, and other devices that enter the human body. The other two patents involve producing nascent iodine for transdermal application by mixing chemicals to produce nascent iodine. They produce a product for application on the skin as opposed to a nascent iodine dietary supplement. These are very short-lived.
MAGNASCENT Nascent Iodine
Our product, MAGNASCENT Iodine, is a consumable form of nascent iodine and is not produced chemically. It is produced electromagnetically. For this reason, our product has a long shelf life and can be taken internally to provide nascent iodine to the body.
In the year 2000, John Brookshire, an aerospace engineer with a passionate interest in holistic healing began researching the exact formulation of this medicine from the 1930s. It appears to have been lost as the parent manufacturing company was bought and sold many times within a few years. A second method for producing this iodine had been recommended at the time but was far too costly and time-consuming to be produced in the depression era of the 30s.
With current technology and determination, the historical process was refined to produce a revolutionary new product. Through a series of “coincidences” or synchronicity, people came together with the right information which led to the discovery and implementation of MAGNASCENT Iodine.
The process for the discovery of consumable iodine was patented by John Brookshire to ensure that this discovery would not be lost to mankind, as the process used in the 1930s had been lost when the discoverer of that version died without revealing the formulation.
